Are you new? If not, list your current characters: Not new. I play/played Madoka Kaname as well.

IC Information:
Name: Remilia Scarlet
aka: The Scarlet Devil, the Eternally Infant Scarlet Moon, the Vampire of Heavy Fog, the World of Crimson
Fandom: Touhou Project
Timeline: After game 12.3
Age: 500+ years, but looks around 11
Appearance:
Remi may be an old lady, but to the untrained eye, she is a ten-year-old girl. She is extremely short, and has childish proportions all around. Her hair is a wavy bluish-purple, and her eyes are red. She has a par of leathery bat wings that, when fully stretched out, are longer than she is tall, and her incisors are pointed. She typically wears a pink frilly dress with red trim, and a matching pink hat with a red bow tied around it.  Here's her portrait from Imperishable Night.

Abilities:
Remi's unique ablity is "manipulation of fate." This is not very well explained in canon, though it's typically made out to be something like "the ability to alter the outcome of an individual's life or a fight." It's almost always used long-term, and has no visible immediate effects. She can also morph herself into a nigh-endless swarm of bats, and is able to regenerate from a single scrap of flesh. She can summon the spear of Gungnir, aka that pulsing red spear used by the Norse god Odin, said to always hit its target with 100% accuracy. In terms of more general abilities, Remilia is extremely fast and extremely strong, can fly, and makes use of danmaku in fights.

Personality:

Remilia could be most accurately summed up as "Chaotic Neutral." She has her own goals. and she'll be dammed if anyone gets in her way, whether they're fighting for Gensokyo's good or Gensokyo's complete incineration.

She is a 500 year old vampire, yet has the appearance of a ten-year-old girl. That in itself showcases the two sides to her personality. On one hand, she definitely can act how she appears--like a spoiled, selfish brat. Throughout her scenario in Immaterial and Missing Power, she gets upset at the lack of "respect" she gets from the others. Which, in essence, is total obedience. Her views of self-entitlement are very, very strong, and if she does not feel they are fulfilled, there will be hell to pay in the form of Remilia knocking your door off of its hinges. She is used to getting everything that she wants, immediately when she wants it. She has a habit of thinking everything and everyone is hers--your house? Better bring her some tea. Your sunny village? Too sunny for her tastes.

Remilia is the mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and the master of the absurdly-powerful Sakuya for a reason, though. She can be mature when the situation calls for it. In the heat of the moment, her charisma is to the level of a queen, and her words can ring powerful enough to command an entire army. Remilia is a lady of high court--she knows the proper manners and table places, and she can throw one hell of a banquet. That's charisma for you. She does know the difference between right and wrong, and can be counted on to make a wise decision. For instance, she sealed her younger sister Flandre up in the basement not out of malice, but out of worry--that Flandre would blow up Gensokyo on a bad day, with her uncontrollable power.

Another notable facet of Remi is her fierce loyalty--you screw with her employees, you screw with The Scarlet Devil herself. It's implied she'd raised Sakuya, and lets Patchouli live at the mansion out of pure friendship and kindness. No one screws with Flandre, period. She holds immense pride in being a vampire (perhaps why her wings are always out), and will not hesitate to speak ill of anyone who says otherwise. She does like humans, though, and never kills the ones she feeds from (and therefore finds no reason to kill humans at all).

Remi really, really just wants to have a good time. The whole reason she blotted out the sun in EoSD was so she could go outside like a normal human. She's frequently seen drinking tea and eating pastries even though they give her no nutritional value. Her attitude is more easy going than uptight (except those moments when she has her dignity to defend), and more often than not things will "bore" her and receive only a shrug.

History:
A while in the past, Remilia and her sister Flandre fled from their home and moved into Gensokyo. Not much else is known about them before that.

During the events of Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil, Remilia grew tired of going outside with her parasol, and released a red mist into the sky, blocking out the sun. She did this completely for her own gain, and was subsequently beaten up by Reimu and Marisa. After that, she quickly became a prominent character.

She has her own storyline in Immaterial and Missing Power, in which she encounters Suika Ibuki while "on a midnight trip to bring terror to Gensokyo," and she sends out her chief maid, Sakuya, to invesitgate the neverending winter in Perfect Cherry Blossom.

Her next major role was in Imperishable Night. Remilia heads out to find the cause of the fake moon, and is followed by Sakuya. After a few detours, they are pointed in the right direction, but are again interrupted by Reimu. Remilia achieves her "revenge" for Reimu winning the fight in EoSD, and she and Sakuya make their way to Eientei. There, they discover the truth about the fake moon, and defeat Kaguya, who in turn asks them to assassinate her rival, Mokou. Mokou is immortal, however, and upon discovering this Remilia takes an interest turning Sakuya the same, though the latter declines.

Remilia has a minor role in Shoot the Bullet, wherein she is chased down and photographed by Aya Shameimaru. In Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, Remilia returns with a storyline, in which she attempts to find the mastermind behind Gensokyo's fluctuating weather by having Sakuya kidnap "suspects" for interrogation. In the end, she is visited by Yukari Yakumo, who explains things to her. She appears in the arcade mode of Unthinkable Natural Law/Touhou Hisoutensoku, and exchanges dialogue with the characters there.

Roleplay Sample - Log:
She didn't remember going to sleep. But she didn't remember the first time, either. When she was at home, then suddenly at the Facility. She felt alarmed. It was jarring. She remembered shutting her eyes. Did reset happen? But...she was supposed to have vanished at reset. Terminated, like the rest of the extra subjects.

She pawed at her collar. Silver, and with her room number on it. So she was back, to a degree. The first thing she had to do was check her time. How long had it been? Months? Days? Years, even? She could have been catatonic for God knows how long, and that made her feel panicky. She didn't like feeling panicky. It was unbecoming of a lady.

The date on the 'berry said less than a week had passed. She breathed a sigh of relief. Nothing terrible could have happened, right? Although it was strangely curious why Flandre wasn't up and bouncing around the room.

With a frown, she pulled up the observations of the week just passed. She knew the terminations list would be there as well.

Roleplay Sample - Journal:

[The first thing you see in the video feed is a pair of eyes. They're a deep, deep red and slit down the middle like a cat's.]

This is not funny! You humans sure have a skewered sense of humor. Because I'm positive that kidnapping me and restraining my powers with this damnable collar is an idea of funny.

[The owner of the eyes slowly backs away from the camera, her hands on her hips.]

Sakuya, Patchouli, Meiling, Flandre, Koakuma...if any of you can hear or see this, this is Remilia speaking! Tell me where you are at once.

This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function?

1) Remi's already been in the game for around five or so months. She's been tortured and killed more than once. 2) She's a vampire. A genuine bloodsucker that has had to kill humans in the past, and live with the persecution of her species. She's tough and won't go down without a fight.
